In 2021 Helplink Mental Health set about developing our annual fundraiser Coldtober™, to help us to continue to provide and expand the mental health services we deliver to children, young people, and adults across Ireland; 7 days a week and out-of-hours.
We can’t believe that we are now going into our third year of Coldtober™ and we are delighted that you are thinking about joining this year!
Not only is this challenge good for the people we serve as it brings in much needed funding, but it is also good for your own health and mental wellbeing as cold water has been shown to have many benefits such as improved immune systems and blood flow to better mental health.
Over the past two years we have encouraged >900 participants to try and do 31 days of cold dips or cold showers.
This year we are leaving it up to you to do as many cold dips (in safe outdoor swimming spots) and/or cold showers (20 seconds) as you feel comfortable with doing; you set your own goal for this challenge across October!
